EYEBROW
MISTAKES TO AVOID The tendency to
overcorrect or add too much flare can leave you with a terribly embarrassing pair of
brows. To prevent
- Don't over-tweeze. It can take a full eight weeks for the
hair to grow back. That's a long time to suffer from an avoidable mistake. Always follow
the "less is better" approach.
- Don't carelessly yank out hair while tweezing. You'll run
the risk of breaking off hair at its follicle base and causing an ingrown hair infection.
Pluck one hair at a time and always in the direction they are growing.
- Never apply an eyebrow color that doesn't match your hair
exactly. Going even a shade darker will create an unflattering and terribly fake look.
- Never pluck one eye at a time. It's crucial that you
continually alternate from eye to eye to achieve a symmetrical look. If you focus on one
brow first and accidentally over-pluck, you'll wreak havoc on the other eyebrow as you try
to even things out.
- Never wax your eyes by yourself. This should only be done
by a professional. The risk of getting hot wax into your eyes is too great to chance it.
- Never extend eyebrow liner (colouring) more than a quarter
inch away from the natural hair line. If you do...the fake "hair" becomes too
noticeable.
