CUTICLE
CARE Neglecting your cuticles is a
sure way to end up with weak and unsightly nails.
- Apply cuticle cream to the base of your nails on a daily
basis to stimulate circulation, promote quicker growth, and prevent hangnails.
- Never cut your cuticles or hangnails. This can lead to
infection. Instead, soak your hands in soapy water for about five minutes and then push
them back with a manicure stick.
- If your cuticles grow at a super fast rate, consider using
a cuticle softener or cuticle removing liquid. These are medically safe ways to control
the growth.
- Understand the importance of the cuticle. Their purpose is
to prevent bacteria from entering the lunula (this is the moon-like semi circle at the
base of your nail). If bacteria gets through, not only will the area become infected, but
the emerging nails will be weak and damaged.
- Always try to use a cotton tipped manicure stick when
pushing back your cuticles. Using an unpadded device runs the risk of tearing the
cuticle...which can lead to infection.
